Before I post up more updates, I would like to clarify certain claims that forumers in a pet-oriented forum had been giving about the whole situation. Biased views have caused many to react. My reply has been moderated and it shows how one-sided the situation has become. I will post my response here and if you are from that forum, read it with an open mind:-
Point 1 – Congratulating the S*CA on catching 10 dogs
At the time of posting last night, the number was 8. Two on the first day of the rescue ((6 May 2009) & 6 on the 10 May 2009. And Jorg did not stay overnight. Only Mooroogan did, which was not even on the island but on the private fish farm. Whatever they were doing there, no permission had been sought to land on the private property (as advised by owner of the fish farm), nor any respect given to the staff who headed & manned the fish farm. They came onto the fish farm, hung clothes all over the place & made themselves at home without first seeking permission or giving a courtesy call to find out who runs the place. Isnt it plain courtesy to ask if you wish to enter someones home??? I am just wondering if all of S*CAs operations are handled in this manner.
Melmel, Im awed by your confidence in all the write ups & declarations of S*CA, Im just wondering how long have you been a member & how long have you volunteered your services with them to be given privileged information. When you declared that Mooroogan & Yorg would be spending a night on somebodys property, you are actually announcing that trespassing is okay. The owner is mighty pissed off with the uninvited stay & was crossed at us after all our work established there until we clarified the matter to state that we are in NO WAY ASSOCIATED WITH SPCA as we are on our own so please give a correct picture of the situation.
This issue has received much hype & fanfare. As the rescue director of this mission with FFF, Im not sure if any of you know why Sabrina left S*CA after 12 years of service. Perhaps this is a question you should direct to S*CA because it would be so inappropriate to ask Sabrina of this.
Sabrina is out there in every rescue, she is the most hands on person Ive ever known. She has no time for meetings. Less time for people who want to sabotage her work just because certain quarters feel that she is a low life incapable of anything. Those who behave in a mightier-than-thou or richer-than-thou attitude have always been met with her humility because she feels that they have more insecurities to look after than the dogs that she had saved. She doesnt need poison pen letters by detractors written to editors/managing directors of the press to intimidate their writers not to follow up on her work on the Dr. Dog Programme or on anything associated with FFF.
I have known her since the early 90s. I have seen her doing all the work. Ive seen her being bullied. If you are in your right mind, would you stand up for nonsense when you see your friend being discriminated??? I wont & I wont tolerate any nonsense now either.
I used to believe in S*CAs mission but now I dont. I used to subscribe to their beliefs but now I wont. I believe it started with great & noble intentions but as with all organisations, things change, sometimes for the better but a lot of times, for the worst. Whatever it may be, I wish them well but whoever said this to the press (a Chinese daily that published the article) that our efforts are hampering theirs, please clarify how we managed to do so. As you have posted the articles since 21 April 2009 with quips by S*CA, which means that they knew of the incident since mid April but why was a rescue not effected until Sabrina did & was highlighted in the news?!?
Lynielime quoted Platforms built in the trees by Mooroogan, Yorg, and the awesome fish farmers helped make the rescue of these dogs a little easier as the dogs would climb up the platforms to escape the rising tide. An abandoned house/hut was also found in the interior of the island, and guessing correctly that some dogs may be using the hut as shelter, these men set up humane dog traps to catch dogs in that location.
The platform was NOT built by Mooroogan nor Yorg. Please credit the right people if you choose to report matters after your visit. Marjorie Gabriel & Karin Lee of the District Council of Ulu Selangor were the people who bought the materials with their money & built the platform with their expertise without the help of Mooroogan or Yorg. Mooroogan was trying to tell a kayak & outdoor adventure specialist how to build a structure which I find very inappropriate. And the traps were merely cages used & owned by MPK (Klang Town Council) which they had set & the dogs had gone in. They merely collected them. I will blog on a second posting on the mechanics of the capture because now that its of international interest, if anyone tries to shoot our dogs, may God deal with him severely.
Ten girls were present with the group that came in to take a look at the situation but I would like to ask what your qualifications are in this mission & what are you doing on a boat sponsored by the funds of the public thats meant for rescue operations??? We are dealing with public funds here & if you do not have the necessary skills (if you cant swim or are not trained to save lives), do not go & be a risk to others who are there executing the rescue. In short, Im asking those who are not directly involved in the rescue to stop endangering themselves (and sometimes others) by being there. The operation cannot have people/onlookers who want a piece of the action that needs looking after and Im talking about liability issues here. That boat could have well been used to transport the dogs back for medical attention.
I could go on and set more things straight but Ive got a rescue to mount & I hope you would report correctly lest you lead the public astray with INACCURATE INFORMATION. Before the 10th, we have already gotten 8 dogs with 6 more yesterday and this is not about outdoing each other but to let the public know that the trust they given us is not misplaced & hope is not futile. We dont seek glory as some of you have insinuated here about FFF because TV Smith & I are personalities in our own right. We dont need to get credit for the people whom we are supporting and the plight which has touched the hearts of dog lovers worldwide. By the way, Ive sacrificed to be in this mission & its because I can, not because I have to.
Ashley & Lynn had been a great source of encouragement to me. And to all of you who have contributed in cash or kind, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Sabrina & the team would do what we think is necessary to thwart the poison arrows that come at us from a certain direction every time.
By the way, on the 6 May 2009, I overheard one of the volunteers of S*CA exclaiming that she had spent RM380 and only got two dogs, struggling here while somebody is in London. If you are reading this, you know who you are & I would like to ask of you to re-examine your intentions of helping out. None of us have the question of money when it comes to something that we are passionate about.
I hope S*CA takes a picture of every dog rescued so that they can be named afterwards. We have named each & every one of them since we have taken them in.
I can understand why people feel strongly about this issue. Look at the history. Ask the press people. They will not tell you lies. Im a dive Instructor Trainer & also a travel journalist, covering a wide range of events, festivals & destinations. We get a scoop on things that you dont normally see so please get your facts in order because they will stun you.
Hi Pam
thanks for the update and brief. now i know why the mainstream media seldom carry news of Dr. Dog programme. I was hunting high and low to follow on this because I believe Sabrina with Ms Robinson had found a way to win-win approach that allows society at large to “justify” being kind to animals – i know it’s pathetic, but this is malaysia we’re talking about..you know what i mean.
glad to know that your team and you are safe and sound. was rather worried when it rained about the time you msg me.
well, i have favourite quote i’d like to share with you: i’m sure you agree with this and you can appreciate it š
Either Lead Me, Follow Me or Get The Hell Out Of My Way!
don’t worry, all of us are rooting for you – if not, why take the time to follow your progress right? š
wow, hitam is really one handsome canine – look at the condition of his fur, at his teeth and gums.
he is really the result and epitome of health due to good and appropriate food – steady diet of fresh fish – no preservative, no chemicals, no addictives, no salt, no adulteration, no mechanical process that striped nutrients from food..just look at that handsome guy.
Hooray to all of you guys. Wish I could lend a hand. All of you and the dogs are in my daily prayers
Kudos to each and everyone of you who are involved in the rescue mission. I keep myself updated daily with the progress. It is quite unfortunate that I am not able to help physically… I can’t really swim and I am afraid of snakes *grin*
I have contributed to the FFF fund last week and will do so again š
My prayers are with each of you, each time you embark on this rescue mission.
I have two dogs of my own and each time I look at them I can’t help but feel guilty. I wish I could adopt all strays!! (My mom will probably freak out though…hehe).
As it is, I am already feeding and giving some love to 3 stray dogs near my house. The owner has moved away and dumped their 3 dogs (a mama dog and her full-grown son and daughter)…that was a few months ago…
My hubby and I have named the 3 dogs “Mama”, “Ah Girl” and “Ah Boy” and surprisingly, they answer to that š
Keep up with what you are doing… we’ll keep praying that the dogs will all be rescued….
Letter from SPCA to clarify a few points.
Hi all,
We are very busy with this situation as well as our other daily work and appointments, but just dropping in to clarify several issues raised as we have been alerted that there are some accusations flying here in this thread. We do not mean to offend anyone, only set the record straight ;
6 or 8 dogs : As of Monday, we had rescued 10 dogs in total. 2 on the first day, and 8 on Monday. One has been given to Sabrina of FFF for safekeeping. Today (Wednesday) we have rescued another 3 lovely dogs, who are on their way back from Klang right now (7.45 pm)
Trespassing/ Permission for use of the kelong : On the 2nd rescue & relief trip, we had already approached the owner of the kelong En Zamri and requested for permission to stay overnight, which he approved. We also had paid his workers to feed the dogs in our absence, and we also paid them to assist with the catching of the dogs. We also brought them food, drinks, fruits and petrol. There seems to be some hostility because another rescue group claims they have ārentedāĀ the kelong and donāt want SPCA to use it, seems to be quite inappropriate as that is the only kelong near the site the dogs were dumped āā is the usage of it to ease rescue and relief work something to fight about ?
Letters To Editors āā SPCA did not discourage coverage of FFFās work at all, but merely requested that credit should be given where due to us when it came to the proposal for SPCAās Stray Free Malaysia/ Selangor. This issue has been taken out of context, and actually had nothing to do with FFF to start with.
Chinese daily article : No one from SPCA has said anything like this to the Press. Please find out who did, as on the day of the interviews none of our staff gave any comments to the Chinese media.
Pulau Ketam Issue : The same animal rescuers who alerted us of the Pulau Ketam crisis that was unfolding also alerted FFF at the same time. Almost everyone in the animal welfare circle was aware of it, not only the SPCA. We had already done a lot of ground work, speaking with the villagers and gathering information with the help of Jacqueline from SAS. We had visited Pulau Tengah with DVS, but no dogs could be seen. When we found out it was instead Pulau Selat Kering, we started planning our rescue and relief work urgently.
Platforms : Murugan and Jorg did build two platforms in the trees for the dogs to climb onto during high-tide, and went 200-300 metres deep into the mangrove and came across the ruins of an old house, where they set up the dog trap. The floating platform for feeding and watering was built by Marjorie and Karin from KKB, and it was a brilliant idea!
Day 2 of Rescue : The boat was offered to us by a kind and generous supporter, who drove us to and from the island. If itās any concern, it was not paid for by funds collected by the public. We tried to save some money by getting the Uncle to take us, as he had volunteered. At this point we were still surveying the terrain and environment, more people came to see if we could come up with better ideas on how to rescue the dogs āā given the difficult and dangerous environment. And together we did come up with better ideas and methods, which led to us being able to rescue more dogs in the following days āā saving us a lot of resources.
Dogs rescued āā we have pictures of the dogs, and have named them. All the dogs rescued (excluding the three which are on the way today) have been sent to a vet in Ampang for a check-up, treatment and boarding. Wowow already has a potential adopter, while we have found a fosterer for Piccolo and Piccola. The three dogs will be on their way to their new homes after being treated by a vet.
Thatās all from us, photos and our e-news will be uploaded to our website soon!

“Kindness To Animals Makes A Better World For All Of Us.”
Thank you for clarifying your stand & I’m sure every effort to rescue the dogs should be lauded however, please contact MPK Councillor, SP Wong as she had been trying to reach you (Jacinta) in the last two days to reinstate the agreement made on Monday which appeared to have overlapped & interfered with our efforts.
The owner of the fish farm has the right to say anything he deems fit to prevent people from trespassing & whatever had transpired was between SPCA & the owner & FFF has nothing to do with it. Certain quarters representing SPCA has come to the conclusion that FFF is misusing funds with this purported ‘rental.’ Even RM1 is considered payment right? Perhaps you should speak to the owner of the fish farm directly & not through ‘representatives.’ As for FFF, we are there throughout the week & since trapping & catching was to be done by us, to have other people occupying the little space that is available, would prevent us from doing our work. Please refer to what’s agreed.
I’ll get a scanned copy of the Chinese article & send it to you. Please send me your email address.
Just to add, it was never stated in the meeting that SPCA was to lead the rescue programme so whatever that’s reported in the newspapers are untruths. Each party is to look into their own segment of rescue.
SPCA was not the first to be there in the rescue mission as what had been told to NTV7. We don’t need the glory but please tell the truth. Sabrina & TV Smith went to Pulau Ketam on the 28th April to speak to Mr. Tan, head of Sg.Lima, who then took them on the 1st May 2009 to where they had dumped the dogs. Sabrina caught one, whom she had named Hope. Subsequently, they were in again on 2nd May onwards. Mr. Tan can attest to it that FFF was the first contact with any animal rescue groups who expressed sincere intentions to help them overcome their problem so why is SPCA claiming that they are the first??? Your representative is antagonising the chief & is not helping at all. Perhaps you should be present to conduct talks yourself. This is the feedback we have with the chief as he would only want to speak to Sabrina. A little courtesy goes a long way. I certainly hope the task is divided to all concerned because long term implications/solutions for the island need to be handled in a structured way to win the Pulau Ketam’s residents’ cooperation.
Right now, let’s focus on the task and let your people know their responsibilities and ours so that there is no conflict on the site. Please know that the farm is situated at sea & people who don’t know how to swim, shouldn’t be allowed at the site. Thank you.
Hi Pamela,
Thank you for your reply, really appreciate it.
To clarify, Inspector Cunera has been in touch with En Zamri yesterday, and he said if we need to use the platform all we need to do is request permission earlier. We have already asked him for permission to be there from tomorrow morning at 8 or 9am, with the DVS and MPK. From what he implies, he is being paid rental by FFF, who does not want SPCA there at all. Is this true? SPCA mainly goes there for relief work in the mornings til afternoon, and FFF only goes later in the late afternoon and evening – why is there an issue about usage of the platform, since our time there hardly overlaps? Not to mention that is the only kelong nearby? We were very upset when En Zamri suddenly appeared to have a change of heart and didn’t allow us to use it anymore, and even more disappointed when we found out why. We even considered taking away our dog traps, which in our absence the workers were using to trap dogs and ‘sell’ them to you at RM50 – but in the end all we want is for the dogs to be out of there in the shortest time possible, regardless who gets them – so we have left the traps there.
As for the feeding, rescue, trapping – Since Monday last week we have either been feeding the dogs ourselves, or paying the kelong workers to feed in our absence. I am aware that FFF also continues to feed the dogs on the platforms, hoping to draw them out.
Murugan and Jorg are good swimmers, fit, and excellent animal handlers. They are still attempting to rescue the dogs using the traps loaned to us, which are very effective and the safest method for both dogs and rescuers. I have been in touch with Shalinee, who said that MPK (who is supposed to be spearheading rescue efforts)was unresponsive. We will still carry on with rescue work, besides feeding – and we will keep FFF and MPK informed of how many dogs rescued, or other issues. Bear in mind we have received overwhelming response from the public, who have donated in cash or kind to aid our efforts. We are happy that MPK and FFF will be there tomorrow to attempt to rescue the dogs.
Regarding “who was there first”, we had liaised with Mr Cha, Mr Loo, and the other “heads” long before 28th April – we had also planned our rescue & relief (Monday, 4th) before we heard FFF was going in to help through the mass e-mail.
Would also like to know if FFF is keen on also working the long-term solution – sterilization and education. We hope all efforts won’t stop after the rescue and relief operations. This is only a small part of a much bigger problem. We hope we have your commitment.
Feel free to e-mail me at Jacinta.spca@gmail.com , however Iām quite unreachable these last few days through phone and e-mail. You can text me at 012-2881421 if anything urgent.
Thanks Pamela, and keep up the good work.

J
I have been supporting SPCA Singapore and HK ( i work in both countries), but since im back here to KL, the SPCA here compare the one in Singapore and HK are way behind. mayb im wrong, but Spca kl is more to attention seeker … i belive sabrina was the one who went to rescue this dogs, then only SPCA step in with the HUHAHUHA..where were you guys before that??? only take action after Sabrina news is out in the daily newp.. also i’ve change my monthyly donation from SPCA to FFF…
FFF is no KILL Policy like NOah Ark in Johor
Whatever it is I hope all these celebrity dogs will be adopted and not be left at SPCA at the expense of other dogs there as SPCA always claimed that they have no choice. Each an everyone of them is innocent.
,
I am blasting out the sms now, on
http://www.mycen.com.my/rescue/updates.html
hope the rest can also do the same for the sms, just forward the sms – tell the whole world that the dogs need to be save. I am using my h/phone to blast out the sms, be patient, bout 1,000 sms is going out per day, takes bout 4.5 hours for me to shootout the SOS sms, hopefully people can contribute some funds to help the volunteers.
Thank you in advance for saving the dogs.
Benny Da Dog
Well I agree with what Dog Lover Says. Well I know SPCA is also kinda interested in Pam’s blog here, obviously for some reasons…:-)
I hope that the dogs that you at SPCA had saved to each be created a record and picture and let us all (he members of the public) be informed of their welbeings and what you have done with them. As we had donated to SPCA too, I am stressing that we had all the rights to know what you have done with the dogs too. I hope they are not save for the moment and later being put to sleep just becoz you cannot maintain them there. Look at your webpage, look at all the sponsorship and your VIP patrons, with all these people supporting, please don’t put the funds to waste. We want to see animals being saved and not being put to sleep becoz of your judgement claiming becoz they are mongrels and chances of adoption is lower. Just because you look better doesn’t mean you deserve a second chance to life more. Come on, actually I had diverted my donations from S*CA to another sanctuary before Sabrina had set up FFF, because I do not share the same view with them PLAYING GOD all the time. And I am adding FFF to my list, not becoz they can managed better, not becoz they are less educated, not becoz they accept mongrels,….. it’s becoz I feel comfortable donating to them, that’s all!!
Why does SPCA need to spend money to hire a PR person? Whose money are they spending? What else have they been spending on? Will they spend money to improve the facilities to house more homeless animals? Or will they spend more money to buy drugs to euthanise animals? I thought money given to SPCA is for the animals? Are the 2 legged animals there are getting the lions share of contributions? Will the SPCA ever allow the public to view their accounts? It has been audited, right? SPCA stands for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, right? What steps have SPCA taken to prevent cruelty to animals? Haiseh…so many questions…when will they be answered? Will they ever be answered? Or will they spend more money to spin more PR tales?
I would like Sabrina to know that my family and I wholly support her work at Furry Friends Farm, and we shall continue to give her our support/contributions in anyway we can.
And we will continue to give whatever support we can to the Pulau Ketam rescue efforts being carried out by Pam, TV Smith, Er Win, and all the others whose names we do not know. More cookies on the way. š
W0000t!!!
Hi Jon
I believe we’ve met before at FFF. I agree 100% with what you’ve said. But, one thing perplexes me. spca has always claimed that they are forced to put down animals because of space constraints. Why are they rescuing more mongrels from pulau ketam then? If it is not for publicity, which is what they always seek, I wonder what other reason do they have. I believe spca can’t stand to see FFF getting all the good publicity. Typical of them, isn’t it?
Do you honestly think they want to improve the present facilities for the animals? I was told that they want the place to look drab so that people will not think they have lots of money. Anyway, is there much money left for the animals – after spending 1.6 million on a bungalow for office?
Pam,
You are Godsend Angel. All of you in your rescue team. It’s heartening how you stand your ground as a true champion of innocents be it Sabrina or the animals.
The moment I heard of Sabrina of FFF has set up a sanctuary I support her unconditionally. She is the answer to our prayers. I am speaking behalf of my other half, families and friends. Every bit of news we share and circulated throughout our network worldwide. Whatever extra we have or surplus we put aside for Sabrina and will continue to give cash and donations as long as we can afford it. So, we are well aware of what is going on.
Personally, I have been supporting the ‘nemesis’ since there is no other alternative before Sabrina. We love and respect animals that they way we were brought up. Do anything for them as long as we can. However, since the ‘debacle’ at Setapak DBKL pound exposures and denials. We totally ‘wash off’ nemesis off our support.
I will not ‘release’ the details but I was accidentally told by a ‘friend’ I’ve known for almost 20 years that that pound has no vet for a long time and that friend is a close friend of ‘head of nemesis’ is selling pet food as their main business focus.(Marketing their products to me and my circle). This was a day before the ‘debacle’ was exposed on 360 TV3 and which was aggressively denied by everyone involved afterwards. No vet so how was the animals ‘put’ to ‘sleep’. You all figure it out.
Only 1,400 of stray was adopted from ‘nemesis’ last year so what happened to the rest of the at least 90% of the poor strays. Again, you all figure it out.
Needless to say my ‘friend’ is no longer a person who I associate with. I feel ‘dirty’ and ‘guilty’ by association’.
Received ‘nemesis’ news updates on their expeditions on the rescue. Good tales spin; that you can them credit. Read it for knowledge ‘ha’ ‘ha’ and pass it around. Let the ‘audience’ be the judge and jury.
‘What goes around will come around’ Justice is slow but the wheel of justice has just starts spinning.
Be strong. What you are doing is on behalf of all of us who physically unable to do so. WE ARE SOLIDLY BEHIND YOU AND EVERONE IN YOUR TEAM.
You guys know what ? Last year , I had my will written in such a way that 50% goes to SPCA and 50% to PAWS. I chose SPCA cos I thought Sabrina was working there. PAWS cos it’s the only other animal shelter I know. I wasnt aware of FFF at all then. I AM NOW !!! Anyway, what role is PAWS playing in this rescue mission? I will be changing the clause right this moment. I dont want my hard-earned money falling into the wrong hands when I die. I will probably turn in my grave.
I AGREE 100% to this comment from Mrs Tham Says: May 17th, 2009 at 4:12 pm, and The Best āSlap On the [Pucker] FaceāĀ is this quote she used – PLAYING GOD remarksāĀ¦.yeahāĀ¦..you go Mrs. Tham, I am with you on this. Donāt play GOD dumb ass, find other solutionsāĀ¦. Donāt be greedy with all the donationsā given, itās for the Animal to be sheltered; they need more space to live not to be put to SLEEP!!!! For the Cat I tried to save, if given the chance of getting a Vet to fix the broken hind leg.
I guess all this HUHAHUHA is getting too much to bear; itās getting more irritable. We have a poor soul, dogs to save! Blaming back and forth is useless coz the truth will prevail!! What comes around goes aroundāĀ¦ I am with the ONE who are in the background doing stuffs without much spotlight but proven efforts!!
But nevertheless, I believe I can share with you all an unfortunate experience with this S*PCA. I have been keeping this to myself for a long time and slowly eating me inside bit and pieces. This first hand experience was encountered 9 years ago; it still haunts me till this day, especially with this highlighted news I feel the need to tell my true story. One night I found an injured cat, being bitten by a pack of bully fierce dogs (it happened in front of my eyes! Felt helpless coz I couldnāt get out of the car and help with 4-5 big dogs circling the pitiful cat). Finally managed to jerk my car in their way and grab the poor mangled cat and drove to the 24hrs Vet (facing the main road of Jln Tun Razak), I donāt need to mention which was it as I am sure you guy know well this āso calledāĀ prestige 24 hrs VET clinic in town. They asked for RM500 deposit before they could help me (NO deposit, NO help policy), I was like āWTF!!!…. How does u expect me to save this cat in the middle of the nite???āĀ… Iām no veterinarian and donāt have much cash and no CC to swipe coz I couldnāt afford it at that time. So I took the injured cat with me, stayed overnite, feed him, he sleep in my cat carrier (I have 2 house bound cats, BigD & MiniMi) in my room so I cud watch him since I myself canāt sleep much that nite. The next morning, I drove to S*PCA and ask them for help, a Chinese lady at the counter were nice but she told me that they donāt have the Vet, no allocation to attend to the injured cat (back hind legs are broken) or to place him so they had to put him to sleepāĀ¦man, I am so very upset and pissed off then!! I had no choice but to leave him āthe CatāĀ there coz I thought S*PCA should know what they are doing. How I wish ; that I knew what to do at that time āĀ¦ Iām so just young and naĆĀÆve, not much of awareness on how to tend to unexpected āfinding an injured catāĀ in the middle of the night caseāĀ¦ how I wish I could do sumthing back then. The regret stays with me forever. Forgive me Tabby Cat!! I wish hard for Pammy and other rescuer a success and a blessing from our creator.
Wow ZZ Lucky, RM500 deposit in the middle of the nite in order to fix up the cat!!!? What kind of Vet is that and moreover 9 years ago! That is alot of money….
That’s why to me, I never bring my pets to one that doesn’t touched them in their diagnostic procedure…you know those that holds an “Orange Stick/Icecream stick” kinda stroke the dog or cat here and there as if so afraid the pets has got rabies or what! And those that TALK $$ first, no $$ no talk kinda attitude…..please if you are so great, put a sign in front of the clinic and state there, “YOU SHOULD HAVE RM500 WITH YOU RIGHT NOW OR ELSE DON”T COME IN”. At least it saves us time to go look for another.
I would like to introduce a Dr Lian (Klinik Haiwan Lian), she is the most delicate and most committed vet I had ever known so far, who treat all the animals brought in with care.. If she sense you are treating a stray, may even throw in a good discount…but fcoz don’t take her for granted lah! She’s also a very pretty vet….:-)
I was as naive as you some many years back and had some truly bad experience with this Big Fat ORG before…so now we know where to turn to. Bad experiences make a mind wiser though!
Oh Donald…pls do not give up!! There are good, bad & evil…so I believe when GOOD is there, EVIL will be too and ever so great and eager to destroy… It’s a test GOOD have to face with honesty, diligence, considerate, as well as a heart full of love… as GOD has greater things prepared and an army so great for GOOD to lead.
Do not give up Donald! You are starting to feel Sabrina’s frustration, so be it…this mission has group you all together ever more tightly kneaded, to understand and embrace each other’s joy, sadness, dissappointment, courage,….to make a better and stronger FFF.
This misson has also open our eyes and make everyone here a more well-inform individual.
With a hefty price I must say, those dogs trusted and paid with their lives, please do not make them sacrifice for nothing!
Go at it in any way possible..to make FFF ROCKSOLID! and here to stay!
Dear Zaila Zin,
I went to SPCA in 2006 with a kitten I found in the streets. It was a dangerous spot, and a lot of cars, so I ‘rescued’ it and put it in my car. Damn cute and nothing wrong with it. The worst thing I ever did was place my faith in SELANGOR SPCA. I had no where to place the kitten, as I have dogs at home. So, naturally, since they called themselves SOCIETY FOR PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS, like a sucker, i believed them.
The idiot lady receptionist at the counter asked me for a donation, if I could afford it. She retrieved the kitten from me. I gave her the money (I cant remember the amount, maybe RM50). I called back the next morning to ask for it, as a friend told me he wants it. I called the next day. Guess what these so-called SOCIETY FOR PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS people did? They told me they already put the poor kitten to sleep, less than 24 hours after I place it with them. I cried my eyeballs out for days, and guilty as hell.
Bloody hypocrites and money faced idiots..they even asked me to pay for the murder…damn it! If they had told me honestly, that they would put it to sleep, I would not have surrender it. I would have paid for its upkeep in a vet or at least try looking harder for a home for it instead of placing it with the SOCIETY FOR CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.
And damn rite the comments above. Where other NGOs are struggling to pay for rescue work and getting their hands dirty, SPCA obviously have enough money to pay for a PR staff. I wonder what the PR staff is for.
I shall never ever support SPCA, and let me make sure non of my friends do so too.
By the way, I am not finished yet.
I am curious, why SPCA only act when the other smaller groups have starterd rescued work at Pulau Ketam? SPCA was aware of the matter earlier, right? Please explain.
And I am waiting for SPCA’s answer on why they never acted when the Setapak DBKL people were killing dogs and cats inhumately. SPCA had a clinic on the DBKL premises RIGHT? They were not aware of it? Sad.
I will only give my had earn money for the smaller groups who are doing the REAL WORK AND CANNOT AFFORD A PR PERSON!!!
Sorry all, I am on a roll here, so back I come again.
The more I think about that 4-Letter-Word Organisation, the more my blood boils.
If they have been doing such fantastic work since 1958, why the need for a PR spin doctor? The quality of your work will speak for you. Certainly NO NEED TO WASTE PUBLIC DONATIONS TO FUND PUBLIC RELATIONS RESOURCES OR WRITING YOUR OWN FANTASTIC ADVERTISEMENTS!
That Big-Fat-Four-Letter-Word-Organisation was born 1 year after the country was born. Well, at least their website says so. I think they got N-O-T-H-I-N-G to show for that many years of existence.
This is the first visit I have to this blog. I dont even know the blog owner. But THANK YOU you for the opportunity to blow steam (long suppressed). I guess that Big-Fat-4-Letter-Word Organisation’s reputation preceeds it.
The money paid for PR work can go towards saving so many more strays (which they are ‘forced to’ put to sleep.
Just my own thoughts. Else I can’t sleep well tonight and I need to get that 4 letter word out of my system.
Good Nite.
