Hi Tracey, most apartments are located in private property zone (the condominium land where it sits on) and thus, are subjected to house rules. You can get a copy of their bylaws on their DBKL website. It’s already passed & documented. Once you get a hold of this, present it to your committee members (Residents Association or management committee) to get them to agree (which I doubt would) in a meeting. Best to get other dog owners together to apply for a change in house rules. Presenting the bylaw will be your strongest proponent.

Of particular interest to me is your report that, “Dr. Zainol briefed that since the bylaws had been updated in 2011, the restriction of having domestic pets above the ground floor of apartments has been lifted, thus, permitting dwellers in apartments to KEEP a dog as a pet but must be mindful to NOT let it be an annoyance to neighbours. Dog owners in apartments can finally REJOICE!!!!”
I am very interested to find out if it’s true that apartment dwellers are allowed to keep pets especially dogs. Can you let me know more about this or where can I get more information on this matter? Appreciate if you could reply. Many thanks.
