Thank you once again for the tremendous support, physically & morally offered for this mission. While some of you might think how useless it is to save a bunch of dogs in adverse conditions which might endanger our own lives in the process, well, my answer to you is, I live my life doing good for I have been made to be a blessing even if it has cost me my job. Some of you think I’m risking my life but I’m not because I’m trained in rescue management, life saving & water safety. I will not let go of the trust & hope that donors have placed upon us to get the dogs out. The video that you saw of the three of us, depicted the difficulties that we faced & this is to tell those who think the rescue is straightforward, to rethink of the risks before they volunteer for such a mission.
Where water is concerned, even I would not take it lightly. The previous days, the surface current was so swift that I did not play hero to jump in. Every move is calculated & the crew of RTM2 was with us as we displayed this attempt. Please know that I would not put anyone in danger nor would I risk myself if situation is not favourable. It is not for personal glory as I shudder to think how I would appear in public with bad hair, mud-laden & all. So far, I’ve avoided cameras & videos but we had to do this & let people know, this is not a land rescue.
Thank you for all your prayer coverings. I’m sure God is protecting us in this mission. Let’s prayer for favour with authorities & things to go as planned when we execute our part of the role in this rescue. We have had interference & misquotes from the beginning as it’s no surprise to us knowing what & who we are up against.
The councillor from MPK, Ms. SP Wong, had been very helpful & cooperative in helping us achieve our objectives of the rescue. Bear in mind that those workers in the previous administration are not wanting to cooperate with the new ruling government, resulting the whole party to look bad. As I deal with SP, I understand better & my confidence is restored. Now, we have to look into creating a public pressure for the ‘WORKERS,’ the Pengarah downwards, as the main perpetrators & credit the right people for helping us. Logistically, it had been a nightmare but the Westport authorities has given us the usage of their patrol boat to go in & out of Pulau Selat Kering. A big thank you to you, Westport!!!
Last Monday’s meeting with all the relevant animal rescuers & animal shelter organisation and MPK, had yielded results with the distribution of roles. Each party is responsible for their own commitment which has been broken up to feeding, trapping/catching, treatment (medical), rehoming/resheltering, long term mission. FFF had been given the task of trapping/catching being the first in the operation (despite what others may say, let the truth be told). We have got chronological evidence of events that will put parties to shame but we are not going to do that because it serves no purpose. All we want is for the truth to be reported and for others to stop sabotaging our efforts with unwarranted remarks.
Pet forums have been abuzzed with this issue & very often carry one sided views. MPK has been alerted & will go in to read all these comments & will take action accordingly as they know what each party has been assigned to do & not cross over to other responsibilities. Just know that we stand firm in truth & we will carry out what we have set out to do.
I will update as & when I can & please forgive me if I cannot reply to each & every one of your comments because there are too many steps to take to reach the reply section on my mobile phone. Whatever spare time I have to update you, I will do it through my blog, or the group on Facebook.
Thank you all & may God bless you abundantly for your efforts in supporting us!!!
Way to go, Pummkin. Thank you for the uplifting lessons you bring to us every single day, and thank for your renewing my faith in human kind. i was beginning to give up hope that compassion for the welfare of companion animals in the heart of malaysia is a lost cause.
my friend is organising a special buddhist prayer to
1) help the souls of the deceased dogs to gain peace and to move forward on their next journey
2) help the surviving dogs to calm down and gain blessings for a better life, so they can be rescued
3) help reduce the ignorance of the people of pulau ketam and the authorities and the general public and to open up the compassion in their heart towards plight and welfare of companion animals, whether kept at home or abandonned on the street.
I know that these dogs went through a terrible suffering, a suffering that non of us “civilised” human beings can ever imagine, and on that we would never wish to visit upon our worst enemies. I’m truly sorry for that …we’re all learning a lesson from this – let’s hope this lesson is not wasted…i’m sorry that we are learning this lesson at the expense of the dogs.

GOOD! GOOD! VERY GOOD! IT”S ABOUT TIME!
Dear Pummkin,
sincere appreciation to what Sabrina and You had done…also not forgetting those who are into this rescue mission wholeheartedly with love and compassion to God’s creation. I am a Buddhist myself, and I could not believe it that this heartless cruelty is done by a village with almost 90% Buddhist and if not mistaken many are Kuan Yin’s followers. I feel so sad and dissapointed at this people who called themselves Buddhist. I guess in order to have them turn over a new leaf, a famous Buddhist Rev should be appointment for the mission to educate this people as I know they will not listen to FFF. They can discard these animal so freely even knowing they will die a slow death, these people are not so easily to be dealt with. Here they say OK won’t do, but when the issue subsided, I bet you they will think of another way to discard these animals again. This time may be even more cruel. I have no faith in Buddhist peple who does cruelty up to this extent.
I pray for your safety and for Sabrina to have all the strength she needs. Also for smooth operation of the Rescue Project.
May the Light Of Kuan Yin be with you and the team and the dogs!
Namo Kuan Si Yin Pusa

Dear Ms. Pummkin with the beautiful spirit,
I found the FFF site through animalsasia.org, my favorite charity. It was there I learned of the horrific situation of the dogs on the island. I contributed via PayPal to tvsmith@gmail.com and have just sent another contribution.
I am praying for all those involved in this effort, for their stamina, resources, focus, energy and health and for the dogs to not suffer or have fear any longer. Bless you for managing this effort for FFF.
I pray that with your lovely, generous spirit, you can forgive those who persecute or revile your team. It will benefit your heart and soul and it will benefit all you help, even the dogs :). This is the time to put all egos aside and let the dogs be first. Don’t waste your precious time and energy and spirit now. I know, it’s easy for me to say. Your defense of Sabrina is wonderful and fierce. I just want to wish you peace of heart and gentleness of spirit, even when mocked or ridiculed.
In prayer and in love,
Dr. Kim Gorman, American wishing for a better ending for all the dogs rescued and those awaiting rescue and the ones still being dealt with in the village.
We are all behind you Pummkin. if more malaysians can emulate what you have done to save the animals, Malaysia will be a better place to live in. Our country needs more citizens like Pummkin, Sabrina, Janet, Joanne to show the kind and gentle side of Malaysia that Malaysians are responsible human beings and also kind hearted enough to help others. This is somehow lacking in many younger generations whom are selfish and self centred. Dogs are also living things that can understand simple commands and recognizes their friends, why do we Malaysians have to do this kind of thing like abandoning the dogs for dead.
It’s a sad day – hope Najib can do something bout 1Malaysia to help the dogs too.
Warm support,
Khairul Azlan
