A minor decision to make a major move…….I got my hair cut……..SHORT. Much to the surprise of the lovers of my hair (and not the lovers of me), I decided it was time to stop frightening myself on night dives when my hair had the tendency to sway back & forth in front of my face as if to scare the living daylights out of me. Coupled with the consideration of making so many dives this year, I thought it would be the most practical thing to do.
Alex, the stylist, asked me twice, “Are you sure about this? No regrets, huh??” I replied, “No, Alex. I’ve been wanting to do this, in YOUR hands, I commit my hair….(and looks and style and the next three years). I was under the shears for 2 hours. My waist length hair was chopped off & slowly but surely, in his hands, I told him I wanted Charlize Theron’s hairstyle in Aeon Flux. He had no idea what I was talking about. Okay. My confidence was not about to waiver in Alex’s experience. So I described the style to him. Far from Charlize, I look like a secondary school girl instead………critics & comments welcome.

It’s often said that when one sheds some emotional baggage, so too does she shed her hair. And who says short doesn’t equal feminine? Pummkin dear, your new do looks fanfabulous. The kelp forest has now become an anemone garden. Those clownfish are gonna love their new home. 😉

Aiya, shy lah! Everywhere I go I get a second take & jaw-drops coz associates don’t recognise me. I’ve received comments like, “What in the world possessed you to do a thing like that?!?!?”
Thank you for your words of encouragement! At least I won’t look back & start to feel sorry for my shed tresses which would grow again anyway.
Ladyhawk was right about shaking my head. I feel so light. I still have to wake up to a possible bad hair day when tufts don’t tame & I have to use styling products!!! Whoever said it was low maintenance???
