I found some old copies of news clippings & decided to post them. Our attempt made history in Malaysia in 1992 which warranted a frontpage mention in the national daily. I can’t believe the things that I’ve said to the press or how the press had distorted my words but all the same, it was a great experience to have swum across the Straits of Malacca in a relay & charted Malaysian history to be the youngest female to do so. Here, I share my yesteryears’ glory with you…..
I’ve posted up some of my other newsworthy articles but some of it are in Chinese & you would have to be able to read Chinese to make out what they said about me. I wasn’t hounded by pressmen but the Chinese dailies wanted to be proud of achievements made by females of my time & they happen to know me from the Straits of Malacca Swim so I became their subject. See if you can recognise me & tell me what you think! Hahaha! The link is on the side bar on the right of my blog entitled ‘From the past to present…’ Click on the thumbnails to download.
From the pool to the catwalk & now the ocean & the web. What lies ahead of me, is totally in God’s hands. I still want to make waves but for a different purpose now.
This is a good sign…none of you has made fun of me yet! Hahahahah! I shall be posting another blog very soon…..!
🙂
Want to make fun… but just not the same as face-to-face… muahahaha!!!!!
Which was harder? The swim or surviving the pollution?
Btw, is this what you meant by “making waves”?
