Gritty

The greatest compliment that anyone can pay you is to tell you that they like your work. The piece of history of scuba diving that I wrote for the Encyclopedia of Malaysia’s Sport’s Edition will be launched soon. It won’t make me famous but it would put another feather in my hat. It’s not often that anyone gets asked to write about such a piece for an encyclopedia. My contract’s been extended for another year and travel is unavoidable. I’m not sure if a fax would send me into the depths of the jungles in Borneo next week or the depths of the ocean the other, but since then, I’ve come back from Sarawak with a desire to stay home with Rufus. Knowing that I would not be packing my bags tomorrow or packing Rufus into the pound in the next week or so made me heave a sigh of relief. I think Rufus has had enough of ripping out the premises of the pet shop already.

Three weeks ago, thinking that he would do better in the new pet shop’s boarders, I moved him over to the place but upon my return five days later found him tied to the back fence, greatly stressed & the kennels were void of electricity as he had bitten off the wiring in the kennels. Everywhere they tried to confine him into, has led to more trouble. He jumped over the wall of the pen & had to be contained in the toilet. Sure, I was peeved at the pet shop for not handling him correctly & confining him in the toilet but when I checked out the place, he had ripped the entire piping system & put a hole in the door…….like about one third of the inner panel of the door?!? Talk about determination. He has the will of iron & a fistfull of grit. I really wonder how he did it. Anyway, he’s home safe & sound now. And I will endeavour not to blog once a month. I was in four states in the last one month with one of them in Johor. Here’s a panorama picture I took of Sebana Cove. Will upload processed ones into my Gallery soon.
